Scripture: Philippians 3:2–11
"Here is some math for you: “Everything minus Christ equals nothing.”
Mark 8:36, “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul?” All the things of this world will pass away and the only relationships that will continue on are those founded and maintain in and on Christ.
If it is between my family and Christ. I choose Christ.
If it is between my country and Christ. I choose Christ.
If it is between my job and Christ. I choose Christ.
If it is between my earthly life and Christ. I choose Christ.
Knowing Him is the ultimate.
There is no higher value.
You who put family first will lose your family in one way or another. Country, like jobs, come and go.
And your earthly life and all its pleasures will certainly pass away.
Here is some more math for you: “Nothing plus Christ equals everything.”
You might have nothing according to the world.
You can be a poor ugly dumb orphan but if you have Christ you have God as your father… And he is a rich father.
So you have the cattle on a thousand hills.
Moreover, you beautiful in His sight.
His countenance shines on you.
Also, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.
So you are wiser than all the non-Christian wiseman in the world if you have Christ.
Nothing compares to knowing Him. Nothing at all.
Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.
To know and live for Christ is to find the purpose of life."
